modeling of thin layer drying of apricot
Authors
abstract
in this research the thin layer drying behavior of apricot (cv. ghavami and nasiry) at temperatures of drying air of 40, 50, 60 and 70 ºc and at drying air velocity of 2 ms-1 was studied. in order to select the best drying curve equation, 9 different thin layer drying models were fitted to the experimental data and were compared according to their coefficient of determination (r2), reduced chi-square () and root mean square error (). according to the results, midilli et al. models could satisfactorily describe the drying curve of apricot with r2, and of 0.999338, 0.0000456087 and 0.00651363 for cv. ghavami and 0.999372, 0.0000347 and 0.005775 for cv. nasiry, respectively.

Experimental study and mathematical modeling of thin layer drying of rhubarb (Rheum ribes L.)
In this study rhubarb stem slices were dried as single layers with thickness of 3 mm in the inlet air temperature range of 50-70 and air velocity of 1 ± 0.2 m/s in a laboratory scale cabinet dryer. The effect of drying air temperature on the drying characteristics was determined and the relationship between the drying parameters with temperature and moisture content was examined. Moisture tran...

this research, presents mathematical modeling of drying process of aloe vera slices with dimensions of 7×4×0.5±0.1 cm. peeled aloe vera slices with the initial moisture content of 5750% (d.b) were osmosed for 5 hours in nacl solution of 10% and temperature of 40 °c at a constant solution to fruit ratio of 5:1. osmosed and unosmosed aloe vera samples were hot air dried at 55, 70 and 85°c with di...
full textmodeling of drying kinetics of paddy (cv. fajer) using a thin-layer dryer
rice is one of the most widely human consumed agricultural products. for a prevention or diminishing of rice cracking in its milling process, precision control of drying conditions is indispensable. in this research, a thin layer experimental dryer is employed to obtain paddy’s drying kinetics. drying experiments were conducted at five inlet temperatures of drying air of 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70 °...

full textmathematical modeling of forced convection thin layer solar drying for cuminum cyminum
this paper presents mathematical models of thin layer forced convection solar drying of cuminum cyminum using two drying methods (mixed and indirect) at different operating conditions. the average initial moisture content of the seeds for all tests was about 43% d.b. and the drying was performed continuously, in each test, for a uniform period of 90 minutes drying time in a solar cabinet dryer ...
